A woman named Nancy struggles with her romantic feelings after her parents pressure her to date Jerry instead of the man she truly loves. When Jerry confesses his insecurity about their relationship and reveals his humble background, Nancy realizes she cannot continue deceiving herself or him. The story concludes with Nancy meeting Ben, the man her mother had chosen for her, only to discover that even this "second-best love" may not be the answer to her heart's true desires.
