Love Letters #16

A woman named Cynthia cancels her engagement to Martin after receiving a letter from Barry expressing his love for her, prompting her to leave town to be with him. However, she discovers that Barry has become involved with Ted Gibson in a furniture design business, and when she confronts Barry at a showroom display, he reveals his romantic interest has shifted to Ted's partner. Cynthia's hopes are dashed when she realizes Barry is no longer available, and she encounters him again at a stockroom meeting where he makes it clear he wants nothing to do with her, leaving her devastated and rejected.
