Lovelorn #39 This issue contains two main stories. The first follows a woman searching for romance who boards a Florida-bound train to find Stan, a man she has been seeking. After a desperate effort, she locates him on the train and they reunite, with Stan declaring his love and proposing they start a new life together in Florida. The second story features a girl who avoids wearing her glasses to attend school dances and appear more attractive to boys. When a young man compliments her beauty and tells her never to wear the glasses again, she becomes infatuated with him and attempts to go through with dating without her glasses, but ultimately realizes the deception is unsustainable. The final narrative follows Judith, a lonely woman who creates an elaborate scheme involving fortune-telling to meet and attract a sophisticated man named Hank. Though they initially connect, Hank ultimately rejects her when he discovers her deception, leaving her heartbroken.
