"Shabby Angel" tells the story of a secretary named Miss Stevens who works for Mr. Everett Wells and develops romantic interest in him by deliberately acting shy and mysterious to test his reaction. When Wells shows interest in her, she maneuvers him into proposing marriage, believing she has successfully won him over.
