In a separate story, a young woman named Gail discovers her father has lost his business contract and attempts to prevent him from learning of her involvement with a man, but ultimately confesses the truth. A third story follows Joanne, who leaves town abruptly after being pressured to find employment, and reconnects with her boyfriend Bob months later after gaining independence and resolving her past doubts about their relationship.
