Madhouse #2
This anthology issue contains two main stories. The first story features a cowboy duel where one character accuses another of being a "ruddy coward," and involves a property deed; the tale escalates when ghostly and supernatural elements emerge, including strange voices in a mansion and mysterious creatures that the protagonists attempt to exorcise. The second story, titled "Crime Does Not Pay, Joe," follows a criminal named Joe who returns to crime after initially abandoning it; years later, Joe becomes famous as a crooner before pursuing romantic conquests, ultimately proposing to an heiress at a May 1946 gathering, though the editor masks the heiress's face to conceal her identity.
