Masked Marvel #1

The issue features two main stories. In the Masked Marvel story, the hero battles criminals who have stolen a "magnet" and are planning to use it on a model plane, leading to a confrontation involving a red plane, a tramway wreck, and a volcano where the Marvel pursues the villain known as the Hawk across a snowy mountain landscape. In "Doc Doyle: The Scientific Detective," by Maurice Gutwirth, the titular detective investigates the "Case of the R," leaving his headquarters and taking a walk through the neighborhood to track down a Doctor Claney and uncover the mystery.
