When the agents attempt to extract Morgan's safe containing $250,000 in cash and securities, a rival mobster named Chick—who resents Morgan's authority and criminal methods—betrays Morgan to the authorities. The story concludes with the agents successfully apprehending Morgan while Chick watches from the sidelines, having decided that a man with Morgan's dangerous ambitions and violent methods needed to be stopped.
