Mister Mystery #19 This issue contains at least two stories. "The Killer!" features Ernest Barth, a seemingly inoffensive bookkeeper for a wealthy man named John Hackman who owns a cypress swamp business; Barth murders Hackman and later attempts to kill him again after his release from an asylum, only to be caught attempting to rob a bank. A second story involves a college student named Al who leaves his study lamp on and returns to find a mysterious fire burning in his room; upon investigation with his girlfriend Joan, they discover a strange red figure emerging from within the study, suggesting a supernatural or otherworldly presence.
