Blackhawk discovers a hidden underground civilization of ancient people in a mountain cave system, where a doomed captive has been using pranks to convince the miners of a supernatural curse. When a famous European hypnotist named Professor Schnitzel arrives claiming to exorcise the curse, Blackhawk realizes the man intends to use his hypnotic powers to control the superstitious miners and steal their treasure. The issue includes a comedic subplot involving a nervous man being frightened by a woman dressed as a ghost in his home.
