When Worlds Collide, a Paramount picture, follows scientists at the United Nations who learn that a planet called Zyra will collide with Earth on July 24th, destroying all life. After confirming the devastating prophecy, they propose building arks to transport survivors to Zyra, where some vegetation still grows. As doomsday approaches, Dave and Joyce work frantically aboard a rocket ship, with Dave tasked with operating the complex control board while Dr. Frye sleeps, ultimately landing the vessel safely on Zyra as Earth's gravitational forces tear the planet apart.
