Mutt and Jeff #6
This collection of Mutt and Jeff cartoons by Bud Fisher contains three separate stories. In the first, Jeff attempts to teach Mutt boxing by hitting him repeatedly, but Mutt ultimately gets the upper hand. In the second story, Dan Cupid tries to interest Jeff in marriage by presenting him with a proposition from an oil king willing to give substantial dowries—$10,000, $20,000, and $30,000—for each of his daughters, but Jeff becomes increasingly skeptical as the numbers grow. In the final story, Sid consults Jeff (an attorney at law) for legal advice regarding a breach of promise suit, and Jeff charges him three dollars for the advice, though Sid feels he has been overcharged.
