A woman's happiness is threatened by her husband Todd's troubled relationship with her parents, who disapprove of him. When Todd insists on settling the matter directly with her parents, a confrontation ensues where her mother reveals she had investigated Todd and discovered he comes from a poor background. Despite the tension, Todd convinces the woman that his love for her is genuine and all that matters, and they reconcile with plans for their own home and future together. In a second story, a woman recounts how she met her husband Bill at a university club, where an unpleasant incident occurred with a drunken man, and how Bill later learned the full story of her past before proposing marriage.
