A woman named Helen becomes suspicious when her husband Ralph unexpectedly calls her at work, claiming he's broken his leg and must work late, then arrives home late that evening with talk of a business dinner. Helen's curiosity is aroused when she spots Ralph's secretary, a woman with distinctive perfume, at a jewelry store, and she begins investigating the secretary's background. When a stranger arrives at their home claiming to be "Mrs. King" and Helen confronts her, a dramatic confrontation ensues involving jealousy and accusations, culminating in John (Helen's husband) rushing in to defend himself against Helen's discovery of his affair.
