Mysteries of Unexplored Worlds #2

This anthology issue contains at least two science fiction stories. The first story depicts alien beings engaged in strength-testing and combat preparation for inter-world conflict, with their civilization experiencing rapid acceleration of their young males' warlike development. The second story, "The Yodler of Yognasi," follows mountaineer Williard Merrit's attempt to climb Mount Sugarina, where he encounters the mythical Yodler—a creature whose horn-call creates landslides—and discovers it is actually a being from an alien civilization that arrived twenty-two cycles ago; the aliens have established a hidden city on the cosmic rays, don't eat or breathe like Earth people, and invite the climber to visit their manufactured world where they offer him freedom to come and go as he pleases.
