Mysteries of Unexplored Worlds #48

The main story, "Son of Vulcan," follows an alien warlord from Mars who takes on human form and assumes the identity of Captain Tusk, commanding Earth's naval forces. The Son of Vulcan, a superhuman being, fights to stop this invasion but is ultimately defeated and imprisoned in an ice cavern on the ice cap. Mars then uses Earth's ships and planes as bait to trap the superhuman and discredit him before authorities. The story concludes with the Son of Vulcan plunging into the ocean as Jupiter plots to reclaim his place and prove his superiority over the alien threat.
