This anthology issue contains multiple suspense stories. One tale involves a man named Herbert whose wife Hilda has become overweight and slovenly over fifteen years of marriage; after rekindling their romance at a dance, Herbert is murdered brutally by former associates of a criminal named Patch, who had grown tired of hiding from the law. Another story features Professor Weatherby, a sculptor who becomes so discouraged by rejection that he considers suicide; a wealthy art patron named Matthew Dillon purchases one of his statues and offers him financial support and a new beginning, but Weatherby's crisis of confidence nearly leads him to a dark decision before Dillon's encouragement restores his will to live.
