New Heroic Comics #90 is an anthology of true-life heroic stories. "Wheels of Death" recounts how a twenty-five-year-old mother of five from Corpus Christi, Texas risked her life to pull her daughter Helen from between the wheels of a moving boxcar after the girl was struck by protruding steps on the side of the car. "To Fight Fire" depicts Sergeant Jessie F. Perez of Company L, 38th Infantry Regiment during the Korean War, who charged an entrenched enemy position despite withering gunfire and mortar bombardment, ultimately receiving the Bronze Star with Combat "V" for his extraordinary courage and heroism.
