This anthology issue contains three horror stories: "The Vampire Mermaid: Devil from the Deep," in which a man named Robert becomes enchanted by a supernatural sea creature named Diana who claims to have loved him since before humanity existed, leading to tragedy when she attempts to possess him; a tale featuring Dr. Collins, a surgeon who operates while intoxicated and botches a procedure on his patient Frank Chester, blinding him and driving Chester to seek revenge by sabotaging Collins during his own surgery; and "The Pit and the Pendulum," an adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's classic story about an innocent man sentenced to death during the Spanish Inquisition who faces torture by an descending blade before experiencing a final supernatural intervention.
