Northwest Mounties #1

An Inspector and his Constable pursue a criminal named Johnson across the Yukon wilderness using an airplane and dog sled, attempting to capture him before he can ambush them. The story involves a chase through deep snow where Johnson is described as "tricky" and compared to a "human wolverine," with the Mounties coordinating to surround and apprehend him. A woman named Rose, described as "the best gal in the whole Northland," becomes involved in the conflict when Baptiste, a poacher, attempts to force her to sign a death warrant for the Inspector, threatening violence against her and her sister.
