Out of This World #7 This anthology issue contains the story "Out of This World," in which a young boy named Michael is brought to a futuristic clinic on a hill where a mysterious machine is said to cure diseases. When the boy's father learns that the machine has taken away Michael's habit of rising early to enjoy the morning air, he becomes suspicious and questions the doctor Titus van Rijn about what the machine has done. The father discovers that the machine has fundamentally altered his son's personality and behavior in troubling ways. The story explores themes of medical intervention and the unintended consequences of attempting to "cure" natural human behaviors and characteristics.
