Out of This World #13

A narrator recounts how his brother-in-law, the brilliant but unstable Dr. Carl Gordon, was passed over for academic promotions despite his genius. When Gordon's sister announces her engagement to another man, Gordon becomes enraged and locks himself in his laboratory, claiming he has discovered a device that can control the world. The narrator and police chief must intervene to stop Gordon before his psychological breakdown leads to violence, with the narrator ultimately deciding to help Gordon escape rather than see him destroyed.
