This anthology issue contains three crime stories based on real criminals. "Vinnie Sherwood—the Racket King" depicts Sherwood's violent hijacking of a delivery truck and his subsequent criminal activities at a nightclub, where he becomes involved with criminals planning a mine payroll heist. The story follows the gang's attempted robbery of the payroll at a mine office, their escape with the money, and a pursuit by guards that ends with their capture. Additional stories featuring Marion Gilmore (Queen of the Waterfront Gangs), Pete Loris (and the Notorious Flathead Gang), and other paroled criminals round out the issue's tales of crime and punishment.
