Pay-Off #1 (1948) This anthology contains true crime stories. "Killer Dillers" follows a con artist who poses as a dancing partner and lollipop inventor to swindle money from unsuspecting marks, while another narrative depicts a criminal scheme involving hidden money and betrayal between partners, where one man instructs his accomplice Nick to retrieve stolen loot from a hiding place, only to have his plans undone by a stuck window. A third story depicts a violent drunk named Bummy whose reckless behavior and drunken rambling lead to his downfall at the hands of a man in a striped suit and checkered cap.
