Years later, working as a nightclub hostess, Carla encounters Grant Richards, a soldier from her past, and realizes she has fallen in love with him while still married to Ray. When Greg Morris's band offers Carla a permanent singing position, she must choose between pursuing her dreams and rekindling romance with Grant, ultimately deciding to leave her old life behind.
