A separate story depicts a young woman named Jane who, after harsh words from her mother about staying home and being lonely, impulsively leaves to find work in the city as a secretary at an advertising agency. The visible pages also include a story featuring childhood friends Terry and Brad, where Terry harbors unresolved feelings after being replaced by others in their social circle years earlier.
