Police Comics #122

Ken Shannon, a crime-busting private eye, investigates "The Lonely Hearts Killer" after discovering a clue in a victim's pocket that leads him to Nigel Trevlayne's house. During his stakeout, Shannon observes suspicious activity and confronts Trevlayne, learning of a plot involving insurance fraud and murder. Shannon is attacked and knocked unconscious, waking to find himself captured by a group of criminals including Terente, king of the gypsies, who reveal their scheme to extort money from mines and factories. After a physical struggle, Shannon manages to escape and alert the authorities, leading to the arrest of the criminals.
