This is an anthology issue featuring multiple horror stories. "The Mask of the Red Death" adapts the classic Edgar Allan Poe tale, in which Prince Prospero attempts to escape a plague by sealing himself and a thousand courtiers within a castellated abbey, only to have the "Red Death" breach their sanctuary. The issue also includes a feature on classic horror films and their makeup effects, showcasing monsters from productions featuring Barrymore as Mr. Hyde (1920), Lon Chaney in various roles, Acquanetta in *Captive Wildwoman* (1943), Veidt in *Waxworks* (1924), and other vintage horror cinema. Additionally, "Tomorrow the Snowman Will Kill You" and "Jungle of the Vampire Bats" are advertised on the cover as featured stories.
