Public Defender in Action #10

In "Public Defender in Action," a public defender named Mr. Manning takes on the case of Miss Lane, a secretary who found a compact containing stolen goods while walking through the store district and is accused of theft. Manning investigates the true circumstances, discovering that a gang operating out of a warehouse—including criminals Lader and Johns who were blamed for a gangster killing—is actually behind the crime. Manning works to prove Miss Lane's innocence by exposing the gambling ring operation centered at the warehouse, ultimately clearing her name and breaking up the criminal enterprise with police assistance.
