Out to Show Me Up Sharon's husband Wally leaves his mother's home in a small Western town to start a new job in New York, and Sharon initially refuses to join him, determined to prove herself as a homemaker and win his mother's approval rather than follow him east. After Wally departs, Sharon has a change of heart and boards a plane to New York to surprise him. However, her plan backfires when she discovers Wally has become involved with another woman, Pam, whom he met at a hotel. Sharon then uses a series of romantic and social manipulations—including ice skating outings and strategic encounters—to win Wally back from Pam's influence, ultimately reclaiming her husband's affection through calculated displays of charm and devotion.
