Red Mask confronts an outlaw named Sam at Split Mesa after binding his wrists with a tie-rope. When a rifle shot rings out, Red Mask pursues Sam and his gang on horseback through rocky terrain. A week later at an Indian encampment, warriors report encountering the "Ghost Rider"—a supernatural figure that materializes from the earth—and Red Mask investigates the legend. Red Mask discovers the Ghost Rider is actually the Cactus Kid, a criminal he has been pursuing, and confronts him in a final showdown where Red Mask's superior gunplay proves decisive.
