Redskin #6
This issue features two main stories. "Chief Washakie: Red Brother of the White Man," illustrated by Stephen Kirkel, recounts the history of the great Shoshone chief Washakie, who ruled his people for sixty years and fought alongside whites against hostile tribes; when the cavalry seeks his aid against a frontier uprising, General Crook calls upon Washakie to help quell the rebellion. "Redskin" follows a government courier transporting a stolen treaty through Cheyenne territory to Washington, walking into a death trap as hostile Indians, led by the false prophet Kitsipion and the warrior Sedotee, pursue him; Kitsipion's deception and violent ambitions threaten to destroy the peace, while Flaming Arrow's flaming arrows set the camp ablaze in the ensuing conflict.
