This issue is an anthology featuring two stories. "Nurse Betsy Crane" follows a patient who, under mild sedation and psychiatric questioning by Dr. Benson, reveals a traumatic past: she went insane after her husband was killed in a car accident, spent time in an asylum, and lost her child two days after her hospital admission. Nurse Betsy helps her work through this deep-seated phobia to begin her recovery. "Nurse in Love" depicts Nurse Cynthia Doyle and a man named Ron who fall in love while she treats him as a patient; she allows him to date her after his discharge, and they become inseparable. The issue also includes "The American Doctor," an educational feature tracing the history of American medicine from colonial times through the establishment of medical departments at institutions like the College of Philadelphia and Columbia University.
