In the 1963 Charlton Special Edition #1, "Idol of the Aztec's," Reptisaurus and his mate soar over Central America, drawing the attention of the hidden Nahuatl tribe who mistake the reptilian giant for their ancient god Quetzalcoatl. When the tribe prepares a human sacrifice in his honor, Reptisaurus responds with force, toppling their temple and sending them fleeing back into the earth—before returning to his mate.
