Rocky Lane's Black Jack #24

Rocky Lane's Black Jack #24 contains two stories. In "The Deadly Drought," Rocky Lane and his horse Black Jack must survive a severe drought in the desert, finding water near an Indian well and rescuing a dazed man from dehydration. The second story, "Me-Winchester 73," is a prose narrative about a prized Winchester rifle with historical significance, tracing its ownership from Texas Ranger Jim Hull through various owners, and detailing a confrontation between Rangers and the outlaw Bob Handley's gang. A third story, "Black Jack," depicts Mr. Temple's prize horse Blue Streak being stolen by horse thieves in Salt Lake City; after months of searching with a $1,000 reward offered, the horse thief remains at large.
