"The Desert Buccaneers" features Rocky Lane confronting a band of pirates who have taken over the mayor's office and are planning a raid. The mayor reveals the pirates' scheme to steal ransom money and horses, but Rocky manages to thwart their initial plans through quick thinking and gunplay. The story culminates in the desert where Rocky pursues the criminals, ultimately capturing them and recovering the stolen goods. A backup story titled "Cactus Brain" depicts a comedic sequence involving characters accidentally locked in an ice box during a domestic misadventure.
