Rocky Lane investigates a fur-smuggling operation involving stolen deer hides from Quincy County. After a series of confrontations with the smugglers and their gang leader, Rocky discovers that a man known as the Dryqulcher has been orchestrating the theft. When Rocky attempts to apprehend him, the Dryqulcher flees, leaving Rocky to pursue the criminals and recover the stolen furs.
