Rocky Lane Western #84

In "Vigil at Red River," Rocky Lane's horse Black Jack nearly drowns in the river after both horse and rider are swept into the water, but the stallion recovers and follows Rocky's trail to Toner's ranch. There, Rocky discovers an outlaw gang hiding at the ranch and overhears their plan to split bounty money, learning that one of the gang members is actually an innocent citizen who wandered into their path. Rocky works to expose the gang's location to Marshal Lane, who promises to apprehend them within two days with Black Jack's help in tracking them down.
