Roger, a smooth-talking teenage boy, attempts to impress a girl by claiming expertise in boxing and wrestling, even though he has no actual experience in either sport. When the girl's cousin Tillie, who is genuinely skilled in wrestling, challenges Roger to prove his boasting claims, he tries various schemes to avoid being exposed as a fraud. Roger's deceptions unravel when his teacher Mr. Krank discovers his false statements about Miss Flutter and himself, leading to further complications as Roger struggles to maintain his lies while facing the threat of academic consequences.
