A man named Robby dreams of becoming a major league baseball player but is urged to accept reality and settle down. Years later, when his team comes to Florida for spring training, he encounters a woman from his past and agrees to marry her. On their wedding night, the groom is approached by men involved in a gambling syndicate who want him to help them install a supercharger into a race car as part of a scheme to rig an upcoming race, threatening him with knowledge of his past indiscretions if he refuses to cooperate.
