This anthology issue contains at least two stories: one featuring Miranda's engagement announcement to a man interested in her wealth rather than her character, which unfolds at a formal party where he meets her father and discusses his banking ambitions; and another titled "Today's Appointments: Love" in which Ava Bergen, a magazine editor, encounters photographer Chet Randall at work and they establish a professional relationship, while simultaneously a woman named Pete receives letters from her absent boyfriend Bob and grows anxious about their future together, ultimately pursuing Pete when Bob's mother suggests he may be ill or unable to return.
