Romantic Confessions v3 #1

A woman named Harriet discovers that her boyfriend Hal is a criminal reporter investigating a story with another man named Tom. When Hal and Tom are arrested, Harriet becomes involved in covering up their activities. Later, after their release, Harriet attends a party where she meets Joe Davies, an aspiring writer, and introduces him to the other guests as a successful author, though Joe himself admits he is still trying to sell his work.
