"The Portrait of Florence" depicts a conflict between a blonde woman and a man who aspires to be a great artist, with the woman questioning the value of his artistic ambitions. "No Gumption!" follows a young woman named Alice who loves a fellow named Larry and broaches the subject of marriage with him, but their relationship is complicated when Joe, a military officer, arrives and interferes with their dates, ultimately leading Alice to choose between the men at her college graduation.
