Romantic Story #54

This issue contains two stories. "One Cancellation" tells of Elaine Russell, an American woman who plans to sell her trading post in Africa and return home, but is persuaded by Captain Jacques Duplex and Chief M'Goto to stay and help establish a chain of trading posts; she remains and falls in love with a young American named John Craig who has arrived in Bougainville. "The Love Gallery" features a woman who accepts a marriage proposal, marries within two months, but then becomes troubled when her new husband reveals his obsession with a "faceless dream girl" from his past; she later discovers he was referring to her all along, and they reconcile at a beach lodge where they had met.
