This issue contains two Sherlock Holmes stories. "Sherlock Holmes' Greatest Challenge" involves a man sought by the Canadian Mounties for a brazenly executed crime who has eluded capture, prompting the government to call upon Holmes to track down the criminal, with the case referred to as "The Overseas Smuggling Racket." In the second story, Holmes confronts a diamond smuggling operation where fortune in diamonds is being smuggled into the country via an ocean liner, and he must identify which passenger among them is the cunning smuggler, involving complications with a blonde woman and wedding plans before the criminals attempt a midnight robbery that leads to a violent confrontation.
