Smash Comics #16

This is an anthology issue featuring multiple stories. The lead story, "Espionage with Black X," follows the masked hero Black X as he infiltrates a voodoo-themed enemy operation in a swamp, battles cultists performing a death ritual, and plants explosives to destroy a fort while protecting fellow operatives. A secondary story depicts a shabbily dressed man entering an East Side café where he discusses European military affairs with patrons, leading to a bar brawl and his arrest, before being revealed as part of a larger operation involving a secret organization called "The Panhandles Tuxedo."
