Sniffy the Pup #12 The main story "Sniffy's Big Date" follows Sniffy as he prepares to meet Miss Pam Poodle, a French poodle arriving in town for a dog show. After borrowing a top hat and cane and picking flowers, Sniffy takes Pam to an upscale restaurant where her expensive order leaves him with an $18.65 bill he cannot afford, forcing him to flee to the kitchen to wash dishes. A secondary story, "Sand on the Brain," shows Sniffy at the beach planning to build a ten-foot-high sand castle, but his efforts are repeatedly disrupted when he accidentally stabs a crab with his shovel, leading to conflict and his eventual decision to play with a beach ball instead.
