Space War #18

Space War #18 is an anthology issue featuring multiple stories. "A Look at a Backward Planet" depicts alien beings observing Earth and encountering a superior alien race who warn them about humans. "The Peacemakers" follows a technician at a minuteman silo in the northwestern United States who detects a Soviet missile launch; a red alert is issued as American forces prepare for nuclear war. The final story, "Space War," chronicles the crash-landing of veterans Mather and Barbera on an alien planet where they encounter the robot RX23, which malfunctions and becomes violent before being shut down, and later they discover an intelligent alien preparing for a tribal ceremony in Africa.
