Sparky Watts shrinks to bug-size and enters Bug-Land without permission, where the insect inhabitants force him to shine their shoes as punishment. A monkey named Chip pesters a man trying to eliminate fleas using sanitary powder and newspaper, then brags about his appearance in comics before the man burns the newspaper and the fleas to finish them off. In a separate storyline, Peg-Leg the Parson attempts to marry two red creatures in Bug-Land, with one promising to obey the other despite having only two eyes and feet. Sparky later helps a zoo superintendent donate a monkey to the zoo and works with a doctor on a "truth-ray" invention designed to help police solve crimes by detecting lies.
