Spirit #12

The issue contains at least two stories. "Ebony" follows The Spirit and his companion as they pursue the criminal Big Jake Gooley into the swamp beyond the city limits, with a confrontation involving a tree marked "Diamond Swamp." A second story features Flatfoot investigating a professor at a planetarium who has created a mechanism to control planetary movements by manipulating model planets, attempting to engineer a lunar eclipse. When The Spirit arrives to stop him, the professor's scheme results in an astronomical event, but The Spirit ultimately apprehends the villain. A third story depicts a crime wave of metal monster robberies occurring simultaneously across the city, prompting The Spirit to investigate and pursue the culprits responsible for the coordinated attacks.
